ALLIE FIELDS

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AK ITEM AND WHY?

Impossible to choose! My husband Jay gave me a light pink Luna as a gift my senior year of college and I was so hard on it (I am tempted to dye it black, but the scars on it are so sentimental). However, my current favorite is my gray suede alligator Hollye cross-bag. It is so practical yet so rock-star... I love her bags since they give "Insta-Glam" to any outfit.

WHAT CAN YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT AND WHAT ARE YOUR LATEST OBSESSIONS?

My husband Jay
He is my natural mood enhancer and the most generous man I know .... He makes me laugh constantly and is gorgeous inside and out. I know it's cliché, but he is my best friend.

My Family
I am blessed with the greatest family and in-laws ever, including my loving mom, dad and rock star/attorney brother David and his amazing new wife Laura. I look up to my stylish sister-in law, Greggory, whom with her husband Pat have given me two precious nieces. Also, my mother and father-in law (and Uncle Steve) ... I love them as my own.

My Friends
I have a lot of small and different sets of friends that each make up a piece of who I am with some of my closest being from 15 years ago and some I met in the last few years. There is nothing better than being with the people that just get you and people that you feel free with.

Wine
Preferably a pinot noir at an impromptu dinner at Tony's bar or in my backyard paired with a boatload of friends

Leather Jackets
I have quite the collection. My current favorite is my J Brand Aiah Leather Jacket.

Lake Austin
We have a lake house that we bought before we were married and where we spend most of our weekends playing all day and all night long. I consider the boat rides with a cocktail in hand free therapy.

My dogs
Mini, the five pound bald Pomeranian who suffers from alopecia and Bear, our sixty-five pound Australian Shepherd with a heart of gold and my version of ADT.

Good recipes
I try my hardest to improve on my kitchen skills everyday but, rely on tried and true... Chicken & Dumplings from Southern Living, my mom's chunky chocolate chip cookies, and my mother-in-law's clove infused ice-tea.

My August-to-August Calendar Organizer from the Container Store
I have had one every year since 2001 in every color under the sun. I don't trust keeping my life online and consider them diaries. This year is lime green.

My custom Nike's that my husband designed with my nickname "GATOR" on them, they make going to training sessions with blonde bombshell Shelley Kuetsch a little less tortuous.

The Beverly Hills Hotel
It's a special place to me where many happy memories have been made with friends... I live for their McCarthy Salad, silver-dollar pancakes and blowouts in the salon.

My Balcon du Guadalquivir Hermes wedding china
I love using it year-round but especially during the holidays because of the bold red.

PERSONAL MANTRAS OR QUOTES YOU TOTE AROUND WITH YOU?

"Love is in the details"

"Be who you are and say how you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"

My mom also sent me this quote recently that stuck with me:

"Today, I shall be as happy as bird with a French fry...."

YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND TRAVEL TO FABULOUS PLACES. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE WINTER ESCAPES AND WHY?

Thanks Alex! Jay and I are huge snowboarders (we even got engaged strapped into them almost 8 years ago). We are headed to Aspen this year and have a hard time going anywhere else. It has the best runs, the best restaurants, such a fabulous scene and you can walk to everything.

In my opinion, The Little Nell trumps all hotels in Aspen but I do love cocktails at the St. Regis. The Nell feels like home with a staff that feels like friends. The first place we will hit is Steakhouse 316 and we will be spending New Year's at the Belly Up to hear the Flaming Lips (I am a huge live music girl). My Aspen uniform is always my Alexandra Knight Shearling Coat and my high-heeled Hunter Boots.

We also always try to get in a cozy winter weekend at Gage Hotel in Marathon, Texas. It is a true gem....

WHERE ARE YOU HEADING THIS YEAR FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PLACES THERE?

We are headed to London and Paris and in London we always stay at the decadent Dorchester Hotel. You will find us mostly eating in London: Ziani's for Spaghetti Vongole, seafood at Scott's, a huge feast in China town and then hitting the Tiki-themed Club Mahiki for late night drinks and dancing. In Paris we will be at the George V celebrating my dad's birthday.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEAUTY ESSENTIALS?

For hair, it is Mandy Zuniga at the Upper Hand (Houston), facials by Allison Ali at Persona (Houston), a good organic spray tan, Butter Lip gloss in Tipple, Benefit's 10 Bronzer, and having a gracious attitude.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

"This too shall pass...." &
"Be nice, it scares people."

WHAT CHARITY OR CAUSE ARE YOU PARTICULARLY PASSIONATE ABOUT?

I have been an active member of Victory for five years, a group that benefits the American Cancer Society and a current board member... this year I will be chairing the Gentlemen's Committee (a component of the Cattle Baron's Ball that Victory puts on) which will specifically benefit pancreatic cancer research (a disease in which I lost both my grandfathers to) .... I also support the tireless Missy Amschwand as a current board member of the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation.

I am also beyond thrilled and proud to be chairing along with my sister-in-law Greggory Burk, the 2014 Houston Chronicle and Neiman Marcus Best Dressed Luncheon benefitting March of Dimes.

WHAT ARE YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES?

Texadelphia, NET-A-PORTER.COM, black and white art, Ray-Bans, bell-bottom jeans and 90's rap music.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE PRIZED POSSESSIONS?

My home is truly where my heart is. I love to entertain big and small, watch endless movies on our two oversized couches and wait for limes and lemons to grow on my nine year old trees that started so tiny ... I also love to treat the office study as a nightclub on late nights.

My engagement ring that I received for our five-year anniversary in Chicago.

The teak swing outside my house hanging from the water oak tree.

It's where 10 years ago, Jay and I shared our first kiss on while hanging at it's original location - his bachelor bungalow in Southampton.

My passport:
I am truly fortunate to have seen so much of the world and I know every time you go somewhere it forever changes you.

My photo album on my iPhone:
I keep as many as it will hold and constantly find myself looking through them and reflecting on priceless past memories, trips and experiences. Highlights: My 30th in Cabo, a 20's themed-murder mystery dinner party I threw, a recent wedding in New Orleans of dear friends and crazy pictures out in Tokyo.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE APPS?

Instagram (AllieWowieF)
It is such a non-invasive way to stay connected and I use it a ton for inspiration on health, home décor, recipes and fashion. Heads Up!

It is a game that has transformed nights, Just download it... trust me.

WUnderground
A wonderful international weather app.

Pinterest
It is slowly replacing my clear binder full of magazine pulls.

WHO IS ALLIE FIELDS AND WHY DO WE LOVE HER?

I met the darling Allie Fields 10 years ago and I am always living vicariously through she and her darling hubbie Jay. Reminding me of my agenda and kid free life, Jay and Allie love to chase adventure and so we thought we would catch up with her and find out what she was going to do and where she was going this holiday season.

As I am trapped in bed with the flu, I love nothing more than to be inspired by fun, chic and adventurous friends and clients. I hope Allie inspires you to get out and find your inner adventure this holiday season.

Allie has a background in public relations and print media. In between all of her envious travels, Allie spends her time focusing on her dearest charities and even serves as a freelance writer to publications such as CultureMap. Allie currently resides in Houston, Texas with her husband, Jay, and their dogs Mini and Bear
